If you pledged for $60 or more within the first 48 hours of the campaign, just maintain a pledge at or above $60 throughout the whole campaign, and your copy of Smurfs: Hidden Village will appear on your Backerkit page when our pledge manager goes live.

How do I back two of a certain tier?
This is a limitation of Kickstarter, you can only pledge once per account. We’ve tried to add most items to the Add-on section, which is visible on the campaign page and then will be available for purchase in the Backerkit. Please do not back the game with multiple accounts, it ends up getting confusing for everyone, we promise that you’ll be able to get every tier you want (EXCEPT THE LIMITED TIERS) in Backerkit, at the same price. If you’d like a limited tier AND a non-limited tier, please back the limited tier now, and then after the campaign ends and the Backerkit opens, add on the other tier.

How much do I save backing a tier versus just grabbing add-ons?
Some tiers can be up to 50% cheaper than the sum of their parts in add-ons! Each tier comes with a discount of some kind so it is best not to wait to grab your games and merch!

What if I don’t have the money to back now?
That’s okay! We appreciate your early support regardless and we will open pre-orders in Backerkit later this year after the Kickstarter ends. That being said, each tier and add-on will be more expensive when compared to Kickstarter prices so back now at the tier you can afford, so you get access to the Kickstarter exclusive pledge manager with Kickstarter pricing!
Backerkit, the pledge manager, also allows you to move up from one tier to another, so if you back at a lower tier now, you can bump up to a higher tier later. You’ll be charged two smaller amounts this way, once at the end of the Kickstarter and once in Backerkit.

What is Backerkit?
Backerkit is a pledge manager. It will open 6-8 weeks after the Kickstarter ends. You will receive an email from Backerkit when it opens, and we will send an update when the emails start going out. Backerkit will allow you to purchase add-ons, enter your address, and pay for shipping/VAT and any add-ons.

I read that EU VAT is not included in the price, is that correct?
In compliance with current EU and UK laws, VAT must be charged after the campaign closes, so we have estimated these costs by country as best as possible based on the total price of the order. European countries outside of the EU will not be charged VAT and may have costs due upon delivery. We have done everything possible to keep these extra costs low, and want to make sure there are no surprises.

How do you calculate shipping costs and why are they variable?
Our shipping estimates are provided to us by our numerous fulfillment hubs across the world. We do not make money on the shipping costs and are focused on being transparent so there are no surprises in the Backerkit.

Why is Canadian shipping higher than the other cheaper regions?
The shipping cost quoted in the shipping table for Canadian backers includes Duties and Taxes, so while it is more of a cost upfront, it is no more than what you would pay with any other campaign not local to Canada.

I plan on moving before the game ships, can I update my address once Kickstarter or Backerkit closes?
Yes, you’ll enter your address in Backerkit, keep the email with your unique Backerkit link and you’ll be able to re-enter and change your address and other options at any point until we lock addresses. We’ll send updates as that date approaches.

I need to change my pledge level, how do I do this?
Click “Manage My Pledge,” and then “Edit Pledge.” This will let you change your tier as needed. It will also let you add bonus support if you’d like to put money toward add-ons or shipping.

Can I use ICloud Private Relay (Apple Relay) to back?
If you use Apple Relay to back, you will not receive your Backerkit email when the time comes to enter your shipping info and grab add-ons in our pledge manager. We recommend not using Apple Relay. If you do back using an Apple Relay, please wait until we send an update about the Backerkit emails going out and then contact us at https://maestromedia.com/pages/contactus and provide us with a different email so we may change it and send you your Backerkit login invite.

Will Stretch Goals be included in Add-ons in Backerkit pre-orders?
If you backed during the Kickstarter, the same stretch goals that are unlocked for the box in the tier itself will be included in the Add-on in Backerkit.
If you found the project after the end of the live Kickstarter, please check the listing for the specific item or tier you’d like to see what is included. This can be seen on the pre-order page.

I might want to change my tier level after the Kickstarter ends, can I?
Backerkit allows you to swap to another available tier. When you click the link in the email, you’ll be brought to a welcome page. There is a small hyperlink that says “Switch My Pledge.” You’ll be able to switch tiers there and pay the difference in Backerkit.

When will my items ship?
Our current shipping estimate is July 2025. That being said, timelines can be fluid. While we intend to ship in July 2025, we will be highly communicative throughout the manufacturing and shipping process for the game. If our shipping estimate changes at any time throughout these processes we will notify you via a Kickstarter update.

Have you created any other games on Kickstarter?
We have! 3 years ago, we paired with Edmund McMillen to Kickstart the 6th most popular board game Kickstarter of all time and the 17th most popular Kickstarter (at the time)! The Binding of Isaac Four Souls: Requiem was an expansion to the original Four Souls Kickstarter we paired with Edmund McMillen in 2018. We paired with Edmund McMillen again for another seven-figure Kickstarter project back in 2020 with the Tapeworm Kickstarter! Additionally, we partnered with Alex Clark and Zach Craley on the whimsical and ridiculous Sugar Heist in 2020!
More recently, last year we created a board game for both the hit indie IP Sally Face and international sensation Hello Kitty, both of which are beginning to be fulfilled now or will be fulfilled soon!

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
